Cool Twitter Trick – The Pre-filled Tweet

Thank you for being a regular visitor to my blog. I recommend subscribing to my RSS feed so that you never miss an update. :)

The other day, I was on John Ritz’s blog, and he had a snippet posted about this neat Twitter trick he had learned from Joel Comm’s book.

The trick is to setup a “Tweet This” link, so that when someone clicks on it, they are taken to Twitter, and the Tweet is already filled in for them.

This is really cool, because you don’t need any software or plugins to do it.  It’s a simple matter of some basic HTML.  Even if you’re not comfortable with HTML, all you really need to do is cut-and-paste my example below, then change as needed.

Click Here To See It In Action!

Here is the code for the link:

Pretty cool trick huh?  If you liked this, and think that your followers may find it useful, then please…… Tweet This!

Travis, That’s a cool bit of code. However, the code you have put on your site does not work when copied. Your code snipit uses left quotes ahead of the http=, _blank etc. They will not work they need to be the ascii quote symbol “. Your word processor probably made this change.

Thanks for the comment Dave! Nice catch on the bad code too. It should be all squared away now.

If you think you would like to use Twitter as a marketing source you should do it, but you definitely must do it the appropriate way, following all the rules. Twitter is without a doubt one of the greatest social media website today for internet marketing.
